The Razlog Kukeri Festival takes palce every year on Jan 1-st. Kukeri are dressed in goat skin gowns and wear heavy copper belts, masks and hats. They supposed to chase away the evil spirits.

The square of the town becomes a stage where kukeri from all 7 quarters of the town participate and compete.

This old tradition, which is repeated anually in Razlog palces the city among the most renown carnival towns in Europe.
