Plana is a small mountain, bounded by Sofia Valley, Samkov Valley, Iskar River, and the Vitosha Mountain.

Its highest peak, Manastirishte, rises to 1,338 m.

The mountain offers amazingly beautiful trails, from which the breathtaking nature of Plana can be adored. The trails are excellent for mountain baking and there are numerous view points from where photographers can make wonderful pictures.

The trails are easily accessible, and the hike can be combined with visits to nearby monastrries like the Kokalyana Monastery, or to the many small villages tucked in the mountain like Plana, Kovachvtski, Pasarel, etc.

The peak Plana in Tangra Mountains in Antarctica has been named after this mountain.
